CHARACTER NAME: Lozarian of Telkonar
CHARACTER SERIES: Original

[OOC]
Friending: My plurk is [plurk.com profile] chocolateisbrainfood and just ask me before adding me. I'll probably say yes, but I like to get to know who I'm adding a bit first.
Backtagging: Yes please! I can be slow when work is busy so I will backtag as long as you want.
Threadhopping: Ask first! As long as all players involved are cool with it, I'm cool with it.
Fourthwalling: Depends on the context so just ask me first.
Offensive subjects (elaborate): I'm not offended easily as long as it's clear that the behavior is IC for the character, but flippant discussion and glorifying of alcoholism, drug abuse, prejudice and/or discrimination or other personal topics like that are not something I'm comfortable with playing out without first talking it out. If it crosses a line, I'll let you know and I hope you will do the same.

[IC]
Basics: Lozarian is middle-aged for an elf (over 4500 years old), 6'6", and very broad/sturdy. He looks like a brickhouse because he is one. With hundreds of years of retirement as a librarian under his belt, he is a little soft around the middle but still looks like someone would break their hand punching him (many probably would). Long, curly red hair of a thick, kinky texture, a thick beard, dark brown skin, long pointy ears, and golden eyes. He's a lot more careful and graceful than people might think someone of his size could, but he is an elf, after all. Being light of foot is what they do. He dresses exactly like how one thinks a librarian would dress with long sleeved shirts and sweaters and vests. He does have piercings and wear quite a bit of gold jewelry though in particular earrings, a gold bracelet, and sometimes a golden hair thong, made for him by his dwarf-friend. He has scars all over his body but the most visible ones are the one on his face from a sword he didn't completely dodge, and the surgical scar on his throat.

Lozarian is someone who is at times too good for his own good. He sees the best in people, fights for what he believes in, and spent thousands of years going on adventures. Many, who know the "legend" of him, think he did this for the sake of adventure and glory, but actually he is a huge culture and history nerd and just wanted to visit as many places and peoples around the world that he could and learn everything he could from them. He's very earnest in his desire to know more and learn from others, very open. He believes that every interaction you have with someone is a chance to learn something knew or open someone else up to something new. He wouldn't call himself a "gentle giant" as he's willing to fight and spent too many years embroiled in wars and battles whether for good reasons or not-so-good reasons he didn't realize were such as the time. He is a pacifist, but believes fighting for peace is part of that.

His optimism and focus on believing in the good of others has gotten him into a lot of trouble over the years, especially when he was "questing" and "adventuring." His friends used to tease him about how easily he would find himself in the midst of a near-death experience. Other times, actions he thought were polite and reasonable, like turning down a Nice Guy Wizard who he was not interested in, led to him losing his voice for years after said Wizard poisoned him with a cursed apple in hopes of swooping in to "save the day." Instead it led to Lozarian almost suffocating and needing emergency surgery to get the enchanted apple bite out of his throat and suffering effects of the misspelled magic for the rest of his life. Did this make him less trusting or more willing to be cautious about his well-being? Of course not.

He lives with guilt over some choices he's made in his life, but also believes guilt is a sign to Do Better for yourself and others. This is why he agreed to become an ambassador for a few centuries, and when he thought this was no longer working as he hoped, he retired and became a historian. He spent hundreds of years writing all the knowledge he could of the places he'd been and the cultures he'd experienced, and even kept up missives with many of those people, as much as he could, so he could be as accurate to them as possible. He became the head librarian of the Lesser Ardia Hall of Records and has been very content with his job and his life there, but agreed to go along on this quest with the Vermilion Company to protect the youths who he feels are very much out of their depths.

He is very, very gay. Has a lot of close platonic female friendships, but is just very gay. Still, if asked he'll say that if someone he cares about were to show romantic interest, he'd respect them enough to at least consider it. He is also kind of oblivious and someone who is interested will have to say it out right because he's not going to notice otherwise. Not that he's against sex or casual relationships, oh no. He's very much a fan of that. He's actually slept with a LOT of people over his thousands of years. It's just usually friendship or attraction-based not commitment and he's not afraid to be upfront about his own interests in someone else. He just respects boundaries first and foremost.

Kissing this character: SURE. He will be confused, but if he's interested, hey, lets see where it goes.
Flirting with this character: Go right ahead. He's kind of thick and may not notice if you don't state it plainly.
Initiating sexual acts with this character: Again, let's see where it goes. He may politely turn you down, or be all for it.
Fighting with this character: He's a little rusty, but spent thousands of years fighting, so he's got some skills. Let's talk to see where they stand.
Injuring this character (include limits and severity): I am very much cool with injuries that aren't serious or life-threatening, but anything more severe needs to be talked out.
Killing this character: Not really cool with that unless we talked about it first.
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: As an elf, he has strong natural protections against mind-reading and mind-control, but he's also a bit of an open book. If he senses you trying to get in and he doesn't think you're a threat, he's going to let you in.

Warnings: If you're ever not sure, just asking me is cool. My timezone is EST but I'm busy often until 6pm M-F and Saturdays every so often for RL stuff.
